Wheelchair-friendly accomodation/things to do in Jeju Island
Taxi in jeju island, Mr. Lee hong min
Thinking of visiting Jeju Island for 5 days later this year with a wheelchair user. Would appreciate any thoughts/suggestions for wheelchair friendly:

- accommodation

- things to do; am not v. ambitious. Perhaps one natural scenic spot, one department store and one local market; one museum

- taxi. Are most taxis able to seat 3 persons and a wheelchair in the boot/trunk?

Thanks!

Understand your concerns. Just back from Jeju with my mom who has difficulty walking and climbing stairs. We found there are some attractions with wheelchair available and hotels with elevators though there may be a step or two to enter the room/bathroom. We stayed at December hotel which is quiet about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street. However there are 2 steps leading to the hotel entrance.

For convenience suggest booking a taxi tour which comes with a 4 door vehicle which should sit 3 ( 1 in front + 2 in back) plus wheelchair in boot. Some tour operators also have mini van for larger groups. We took our tour with Nam Yang Taxi Tour and Mr Lee knew which places my mom could easily navigate and which places we would have difficulty.

Many thanks happijoy, your comments are most helpful. Presume you mean Mr Lee Hong Min regarding the taxi arrangements. I gather that hailing a taxi on the street may not be easy... Thanks again for responding
